Hewlett-Packard Bélgica ha anunciado hoy que, a través del concurso público DIGIT/R2/PO/2011/038 para servidores de datos Mainframe III, ha sido seleccionada por la Comisión Europea (CE) para proporcionar Servidores HP Integrity y soluciones relacionadas para soportar cargas de trabajo críticas, incluyendo aplicaciones con bases de datos intensivas, así como otros entornos críticos situados en múltiples países de la Unión Europea (UE).
Bajo los términos del acuerdo marco (DI/07120), las instituciones, agencias y organismos de la Unión Europea participantes podrán a partir de ahora adquirir nuevos servidores HP Integrity basados en procesadores Intel® Itanium® y que operan con HP-UX 11i v3.
Uno de las fases de la evaluación técnica requirió que se llevaran a cabo tests de benchmarking en el Centro de Rendimiento de HP EMEA (Europa, Oriente Medio y África) situado en Böblingen, Alemania. Según los criterios de concesión publicados en las especificaciones del concurso, la oferta de HP ofrecía el mejor ratio calidad-precio.

Además de los servidores de misión crítica HP Integrity, HP proporcionará equipamiento asociado, incluyendo software. HP Technology Services también proporcionará servicios y soporte, incluyendo mantenimiento y servicios profesionales.
Los servidores HP Integrity y el entorno operativo HP-UX son parte de la Infraestructura Convergente de HP, que simplifica y unifica el TI con un portfolio común y modular de sistemas de misión crítica desarrollados para proporcionar alta disponibilidad, escalabilidad y resistencia para las cargas de trabajo más exigentes de las compañías.
