HP ha superado por primera vez la marca del 60% de cuota de mercado en servidores x86 en Iberia, con una cuota del 60,7% en el cuarto trimestre de 2013, según IDC, la principal empresa de análisis e investigación de mercados especializada en tecnología de la información, telecomunicaciones y tecnología de consumo.

Tras cuatro trimestres consecutivos de crecimiento, la compañía ha aumentado en 8,1 puntos su market share, un crecimiento de más de 15 puntos por encima del mercado en comparación con el año anterior.

Los datos se deben especialmente al buen rendimiento del mercado español, donde la gama de servidores x86 ha alcanzado un 62,2% de cuota de mercado, 4,5 puntos por encima del trimestre anterior. A notable distancia se encuentra el segundo competidor, con una cuota del 14,4%, y el tercero, con el 6,8%.

Récord en el mercado de redes

Los buenos resultados de HP EG Iberia también se han reproducido en el área de Networking, que ha alcanzado su récord de cuota de mercado por facturación, con un 9,9% de cuota y un crecimiento del 110% con respecto al año anterior. En unidades vendidas, HP Networking ha alcanzado un 22,3% de cuota, lo que supone un crecimiento del 61,3% en comparación con el mismo periodo de 2012.

En palabras de César Vallecillo, Director de HP Networking Iberia, “la apuesta por estándares abiertos, tales como SDN o NFV, ha consolidado a HP Networking como segundo proveedor de equipamiento de red en el mercado mundial, manteniendo un crecimiento sostenido por 17 trimestres consecutivos. En el mercado ibérico, los últimos datos publicados por IDC para Q4 2013 lo corroboran, al indicar un crecimiento de casi cinco puntos con respecto al año anterior”.
